acura car seats : I have been shopping for the GSR 4dr seda since last week. Talkedto a few dealers and they all said the GSR is in limited supply. There is no more 97 model coming, and 98 won't come until Sept/Oct.It's hard to get a good deal now. The best offer I have is about$19980 (car+dest+factory alarm, no leather). They have to locatethe car though. I guess this is not too bad. Other dealers are asking at least $20500. If you can wait, you may get a better deal on 97 model when 98 comesout (if you can find one). On the flip side, the new price on 98may not change much because it is only styling change and the marketis soft right now. It may be better off to buy the new one becauseyou will get a better price when you sell it.I would be interested to find out what prices other people paid recently.FYI, I paid $19,800 plus tax/tag/title for my '97 GS-R with leather, etc. I think you're price is good. They are fairly rare (I live inJacksonville, Florida -- big city -- and there was only one GS-R*period* available, it happened to be the exact 4-door model that Iwanted).

acura car seats : ---------------------------------------- --------I'd WELCOME any feedback! Good? Bad? uGlY?... | | | ---------------------------------------- --------Kimberly - I have a '95 RS sedan ( 5 spd ). I have seen many more 2 doorcoupe Integras than sedans. I was just curious as to why you opted for aGS-R sedan?I still have kids in their young teens which I chauffer all over the place, and although we have a larger family sedan ( 626 ) I felt that it waseasier/quicker/convenient for the kids to access the back seats with thesedan. I would be interested in the reasons one chooses a coupe or sedan -yours and other folks' too.Minor One: Believe it or not, insurance is noticeably cheaper on the4-door GS-R than the 2-door. Same engine, same abilities, I know, butcheaper insurance. I think it has to do with statistics for accidents(you know -- those folks who may drive the 2-doors are still "young, reckless, etc." while the 4-door drivers are more "conservative" andhave fewer accidents as DRIVERS...)Major One: I'm very tired of flipping fronts seats up in cars to getto what I'm hauling in the back seats, people included. I've had 2door cars nearly all my life (ripe old 27 that I am) and I was justready for a 4-door. I'm not married, no children, but I hope to maybekeep this car for a long while, and babies and car seats may be in myGS-R's future, too.

acura car seats : To be honest, if the 4-door GS-R didn't have the exact same powers andabilities as the 2-door, I would have gotten the 2-door just to not bemissing anything! But it's the same. Identical power, 0-60, etc.etc.---------------------------------------- --------I'd WELCOME any feedback! Good? Bad? uGlY?... | | | ---------------------------------------- --------This is a major reason :) Insurance is much cheaper as you said. I too was torn with the decision. The 4 door has the same wonderfulengine, and even had some better color choices (I loved the StealthPearl 'Gray').1) Coupe has more carting crap around room. I welcomedthe idea of pushing my back seats down to haul things. Bighatches are a dying breed in coupes.Previous car was a 200sx which had *smaller* rear seats, making me think the rear seats in the GSR coupe were nottoo bad :)2) Sedan is a bit heavier, so ifyou have any thoughts of racing thepuppy, coupe wins a bit hear.3) not a reason, but 4 doors seem to be old people...I didnot want to look like an old fart right out of collage :) :) :)---------------------------------------- ----------Brian P. Van LieuYou know the routine...remove "special" charactersto get my real email address :P

acura car seats : I have a '97 GS-R sedan. I went with the sedan because of the kid factor. The Acura is the "backup" family vehicle. My kids are younger than yours, but since I keep cars for at least ten years I'll need the easy access backseat before too long. I also love the fact that my car appears to be a runof the mill compact sedan, until the VTEC kicks in :-) You know, the wolfin sheep's clothing and all...I just purchased a used 2-door LS. There are plusses and minuses to both. As I see 'em:2-door====pro----lighter (by 95 lbs)shorter wheelbase for (theoretically) sharper handlinghatchback versatilitythe only one that comes in Milano Red!yes, I prefer the stylingcon-----shorter wheelbase for (theoretically) a more jiggly ridepoor rear visibility (4-door's is fair)can't lock hatch access from inside4-door====pro----lower insurance (not by much for me)quietermore rear passenger roomrear windows that open (if I was a passenger, I'd hate the two-door claustrophobic feel).I'm single and have gotten by fine with 2-doors. I gave serious thought to a 4-door this time (BMW - but too expensive; Integra - but no RED; Contour SE). Would have been happy with either. In hindsight, I do find the noise from the rear a little obtrusive, the ride too jiggly on Rochester roads, and the way the seats slide forward and not automatically back annoying. If I did get a 4-door, it would have to have been the "cypress pearl" green. The only other color I like.

acura car seats : If it were my decision I'd ditch the navi. It strikes me as something that'sgoing to break, cost a lot to fix, and a decent map will get you the same thing. That should save at least $3k. I dunno, first we bitch about cell phone driversnow everyone wants the drivers looking at a small LCD screen, trying to figureout where they are, or checking e-mail, or surfing the www for a place to eat. But, if you get some psychic satisfaction out of giving the valet keysto an Acura instead of a Honda, you'll save $8000 in psychiatricexpenses the first year and be making money thereafter.I'm driving a 1999 CL now, glad I spent an extra couple of grand on iteven though the differences are even smaller than with the 2001 TL.The current Accord sheet metal, just didn't wind my watch. The TL isprettier, faster, and has an Acura badge. And generally, Acuradealers will treat you more nicely than do Honda dealers, it's part ofthe gig.If you go with the Acura, you may slightly morn the money. If you gowith the Honda, you will probably morn the lost opportunity moreoften, you'll spend the $8,000 on beer, or Prozac, or Hagen Daaz. Ithink you can't afford to get the Honda. <g>
