infiniti automobiles : First off, the correct spelling of Nissan's luxury automobile divisionis "Infiniti" not "Infinity." I would also like to clear up the questionof what kind of engines power Lexus and Infiniti automobiles, since aperson had remarked in earlier posts that most Lexus and Infiniti modelshad V6 engines, while at the same time saying that several of eachmanufacturer used V8 engines.Infiniti: Q45- V8 J30- V6 G20- inline 4 (I must admit that I cannot remeber for sure here)who cares about typos of these meaningless, synthetic names? if thecars were named after a person, e.g. honda, i'd be more respectful.wrong! the GS300 and SC300 use straight sixes, while the ES300 uses aV6. only a giant like toyota can afford to have both a V6 and inline6 in its lineup, but that won't last for long.Funny, I thought the numbering scheme for both Lexus and Infiniti wasrelated to sticker price more than anything else, i.e. Infiniti G20 (around20K), Q45 (around 45K), Lexus ES250 (RIP) (around 25K), Lexus ES300 (around30K), etc.that works out to $10 per c.c. .... that's for a LUXURY car c.c....
infiniti automobiles : SentraE = 1600 c.c = aprox. 8K ... a bargain at only $5 / c.c.At these prices I can afford either a lexus or infiniti w/ 1000 - 1500cc.. maybe a B15 or ES150, or maybe the BMW 214i. (or an Audi 40)In article writes: ^^ -- Not quite. The new GS300 inherits the inline 3.0 six as already seen in the SC300. Also, this motor is an evolution of the Supra inline six, which will see duty in the upcoming Supra in both normally aspirated and twin-turbo'ed form.Actually, the new GS300 is a Lexus rebadged version of the home-marketToyota Aristo. Unfortunately, the HOT version of the Aristo will not makethe crossing stateside. Toyota offers its home market a twin-turbo'edAristo with the killer motor soon to be seen here in the new Supra. Itis purportedly an autobahn-burner in the vein of the European specialtycars -- BMW M-versions, Alpina BMW's, Merc 500E, AMG's, Cosworth Fords,Lotus-Opel Omega etc.For you Lexus-watchers, it is also interesting to note that the Aristo/GS300body was originally penned by an Italian studio (Pininfarina, I think, butI could be wrong) as a study for, and a prototype presented to the folks at Jaguar (who commisioned it) to be the Jaguar of the 90's. Coventry rejectedtheir proposal, though. infiniti automobiles : Have you seen that Infiniti commercial that's all black andwhite and has the guy walking down the street at night, comes to a corner when four Infiniti automobiles pull up, thentake off?If so, here's the question: What's the background music to thatcommercial, and who wrote it?This one's been bugging me since I first saw that commercial...Stupid television.-- Andrew E. Lin | "Have you ever wondered if illiterate people | get the full effect of alphabet soup?" | -- John MendozaI know that it's the Dave Brubeck Quartet (alto: Paul Desmond, who iscredit with the composition). Unless I'm confusing it with another greatBrubeck, the name is "Take Five."There's a Columbia CD (CK-8192) called "Time Out" that has it on it, aswell as another famous selection "Blue Rondo a la Turk."It's good to see that guy in the infiniti commercial outside. Now if hecan be treated to some green grass, blue sky and some daylight.......Two thumbs up for the Brubeck soundtrack!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~George & Cynthia GederContinuum ResourcesInformation2Presentation216 Wayne Ave #301Oakland, California 94606Does anyone if that version is in print? My wife has been begging meto find it :-) infiniti automobiles : I saw an Infiniti commercial on TV a couple of weeks ago. This commercial usesa very sweat jazz song in the background. I know that I have heard thismusic many times in the past, but I have never listened the whole song.Anyway, I asked my wife whether she knew the artist of the song in thecommercial. She first said she did not know while she was reading NY Times, the advertising section. As soon as she said that, she told me that it wasDave Brubeck because the paper was just talking about the advertising forthe Infiniti automobiles. However, I am not able to find out the name of thesong and the title of the album or CD. Would anyone know the name of the songand the title of the CD?From: ()Subject: Re: The song in Infiniti commercialsong in Infiniti commercial Newsgroups: Date: 1996/06/26 In (Pat Cheung) writes: "Take Five" - Dave Brubeck Quartet, from "Time Out" album. Consideringhow often this question is being asked, it certainly is a testimonialto the power of advertising on TV, and to some universal appeal thatthis tune (almost 40 years old) seems to have down the generations! jack infiniti automobiles : I own a 1998 Infiniti I30t and love it. It is fast, comfortable andgreat looking. Much better looking exterior than the Maxima SE, IMHO.Also, it has a better warranty than the Maxima and comes with thelimited slip differential (not available in the US on a Maxima). Theservice is supposed to be better for Infiniti than Nissan. Don't knowfor sure... Haven't had the car in the shop yet. Also, free loanercars as well. Truly a first class entry level luxury car with sportfeatures.I thought the M30 was a rear drive coupe with an inline 6, possibly Skylinederived, and the I30 is a front drive V6 car based on the Maxima? I rememberthese being VERY different cars.....Nicely put on the differences between the badges. Mechanically, the Maximaand I30 are identical except for the VLSD. But the service side may beimportant if your Nissan dealer is a creep. Also, the current I30 ads are showing a different A/C control panel, including an ambient temperature button.--------Steve Cutchen O- Nothing screams poor craftsmanship like wrinkly duct tape...These are two completely different cars - you're right. The M30 did have asix and was rear wheel drive; it was also Infinti's only coupe (just waitfor the '99 G20). However, the M30 was more Maxima influenced, I don'trecall any Skyline blood in there. I am referring to the '85-'92 Maximaswhen I say this because if I recall, the engine was either a VG30E orDE...could be wrong though. They also were offered as convertibles. On theother hand, the I30 has no real relation to the M30 besides the fact thatthey are both Infiniti automobiles.
