infiniti service discount : I left the following Monday on my trip. That evening the temperaturedropped below 0. I quickly notice that my feet were freezing. The floorheater vent was not working. The next morning I drove the car to a Volvodealer in Detroit, Dwyer and Sons, and asked them to take a look. Afterthree hours they told me that the damper control motor was broken. Theyspecial ordered one and I was informed that it would be in on Thursday. Ithen ask for a loaner car as mine was to uncomfortable to drive (try blowing0 degree air on your ankles for an hour). They give me a dumb look and thenclaimed that they were out of loaners - sorry. I called Volvo to ask fortheir assistance and I was told that loaner cars are a dealer courtesy andnot Volvo policy even for warranty repairs - sorry. Needless to say I waspretty pissed at this point. But what could I do so I headed back to thehotel and waited for parts, luckily the people I was working with coulddrive me around.Thursday the dealer parts guy called and told me the part is in. I thentalk to the service manager at Dwyer only to be told that they can'tpossibly schedule the repair till next week - sorry. I then called anotherdealer, Ann Arbor Volvo, and asked if they could fix it. They said noproblem - but sorry no loaner. I picked up the part from Dwyer and took itto Ann Arbor. I arrived at 7 am with the part and started waiting. At 10am they tell me that the problem wasn't the damper motor but that the damperhousing is broken. Of course the parts are not on hand. At this point Iwas furious. I called Volvo again only to be told sorry.
infiniti service discount : I now had no choice but to rent a car! So I leave my car in Ann Arbor andhead back to Chicago in a rental car at my own expense. The following weekI get a call that my car was ready. Unfortunately I couldn't get back toDetroit to pick it up. So I asked Ann Arbor Volvo to drop the car off at alocal body shop so I could get some touch up painting done. Three dayslater the car finally shows up at the body shop. Two weeks later I pick up the car on a Saturday. The first thing I noticedis that the radio says OFF. I pulled out the owners manual and found thereset procedure - two hours later I entered the security code (which was inthe glove box the whole time - I don't know why the mechanic who fixed theheater didn't enter it correctly). All that I heard out of the radio was avery high pitched noise. I quickly realized that somehow when they wereputting the dash back together they shorted out the radio. I called AnnArbor Volvo only to be told that their service department is closed onSaturday. So I delayed my return to Chicago until Monday afternoon (takinga vacation day) and showed up first thing Monday morning at Ann Arbor Volvo. After a two hour wait I was told that the external amplifier was blown(850Rs have an external 200 watt amp). infiniti service discount : So I asked Ann Arbor to have the amp shipped to my dealer in Chicago,Patrick Volvo, and called and arranged a service date for the followingweek - sorry no loaners available. I drove back to Chicago - 5 hourswithout a radio! The following week I dropped off my car and got a call in three hours. Theamp wasn't the problem - two of the wiring harnesses were shorted. Onceagain the parts were not on hand. Oh and sorry but no loaners. The following week the parts came in and my radio was fixed. In the endthis cost me over $1000 in rental cars and a day of vacation time. Not badfor a one year old car with 25000 miles! After all I had been through I made one final call to Volvo. They listenedto my story and made many sympathetic remarks. I expressed my disgust withtheir dealership service and loaner car policies only to be told that Volvodealerships are independent businesses and that their is nothing Volvo cando. That was two weeks ago.I am hoping that somehow I can get through the next few years of Volvoownership without another breakdown. Don't get me wrong I really love thecar it is just Volvo customer service that scares me. Maybe Ford can teachthem something. infiniti service discount : Maybe not...but the Nissan dealer has one thing going for him the Infiniti dealer does NOT...-- Steven ParkerKTLA/TV-5 LOS ANGELES, CA - THE CAR DUDE (c)KMPC 710/TALK radio LOS ANGELES, CA - THE CAR NUT (c)Also seen on Tribune Broadcasting TV stations across the the USAI think they made a big mistake. I mean, come on, FOUR four doors? I just traded my '92 M30 Convert for an Audi Cabriolet, when I really wanted the next convertible from Infiniti. They don't even have a coupe. and talk is the next thing is a sport-ute a la Pathfinder. Wake up boys.Audi and Saab have both added ragtops to their line in the last 2 years. Porsche and BMW and Mercedes are adding 'verts soon. I loved my M30. Whew, I feel better. Sorry.Has anybody test driven/bought one yet? What do you think?--Srikant Subramaniam. From: ()Subject: Re: Infiniti I30? Newsgroups: Date: 1995/06/18 I am considering 5 luxury cars as my next purchase within the next 1 1/2months: Maxda Millenia, Acura TL 2.5, BMW 325i, Infiniti I30 and LexusES300. I currently own a 1993 Maxda MX-6 . I got married two years ago andnow need a bigger car (no kids yet, but I now like a four door with aROOMY backseat. infiniti service discount : The following is a brief review of the cars I am considering:MAZDA MILLENIA: I was considering the model without the Miller engine.Nice car. Test drove it. Smooth acceleration and attractive dashboard. My problem with it is the backseat. Not that roomy. Plus, when you look atthe car, it doesn't look that luxurious. Maxda is not your typical luxurycar dealer. They sell everything from 323's to sports cars to trucks. WhenI am paying $30,000 for a car, I want to get it from a luxury car dealerlike BMW, Infiniti or Lexus.BMW 325i: Reports in Consumer Reports and Car & Driver as one of the bestcars they driven. I am sure it is, but do you ever look at the backseat. Ihave been in a 325i at the 1995 Philadelphia Auto Show and the problem Ihave is with the interior. It looks clustered and crowded and very"plastic." I don't get a luxurious feeling from sitting in the car. BMW325i is probably most definitely a high performance car but not a luxurycar. It's not the car for me - Maybe 5 years ago but not now.ACURA TL 2.5: I have 3 words for this car. Souped-up Honda Accord. Thatis what the engine felt like when I test drove it. The acceleration wasn'tsmooth. I didn't like the car as soon as I stepped on the gas.
