oldsmobile recalls : It should have been a big concern at the time, but since it has been foundand corrected, the chances of it happening again are slim. I'm sure Delta'sreputation was hurt and they took steps to prevent it from happening again.Look at the automotive recalls. They still happen, but I've never seen thesame one twice.Ed;~) My first profession was in the automotive industry. For about 10 ofthose I was the Parts Department and later a Service Sales Manager for alarge Oldsmobile dealership in Houston. The Oldsmobile recalls went out fora particular body style and then months later moved on to another body styleprovising it used the part. Fortunately, tools have far less to go wrongand las longer. There should have been recalls on the fuel system for eachyear but the last that Oldsmobile sold a car with a diesel engine. It wasnot until the last year of offering an Olds with a diesel that theyactyually built it with an adequate fuel filter system. There should havebeen a recall and or design change for at least 20 years on blower motors.Still one of the most replaced items, same basic design...That said,Oldsmobile and GM did not do it right back in the 80's and 90's and now lookat Oldsmobile's fate...
oldsmobile recalls : Don't forget the 4100HT engines - water in the oil due to loose intakemanifold bolts which were not accessible w/o removing the valve covers.and w/s washer pumps. A/C power modules. Can't count how many of those 2items I have replaced.And the old Doctor Pepper engine... the one that ran on 8 then 6 then 4cylinders... LOLI have the Unisaw with the 50" Biesemeyer. It came set up dead on and hasbeen a pleasure to use. I have also played around with the Jet and havefound it also to be a very good saw. I have not used a Grizzly, but fromthe posts, the quality can be inconsistent. Sometimes, everything worksgreat out of the box and sometimes you go through a period of getting itsetup and replacing a part or two. However, I haven't seen any posts I canimmediately recall to where they weren't happy once everything was goingright. So I guess if you want to save money and don't mind possibly havingto fool with the machine a little to get it right, the Grizzly might be theway to go. Personally, I would go with the Jet or Delta.

oldsmobile recalls : I just had a quick question. I have read alot over the past fewmonths about TSB's and recalls, etc in this newsgroups. Are thesevalid in Canada as well as the US, or are there seperate TSB's forvehicles manufactured for Canada? I ask because any website I look upregarding these TSB's seem to be American. Transport Canada's siteonly includes recalls, no TSB's, and there are only two for a 2000Alero. At alldata.com, there is a whole page. Just curious.Reaclls are usually mandated by a court or government agency, so Canada andThe USA each Issue recalls. GM basically in north america have alot of theircontracted out parts shipped to both countries and therefor most recalls arevalid in both countries.TSB's are Tehcnical Service Bulletins which are basically designed to reportabnormal or recurring problems, and are designed to keep service personnelup to date with the most likely causes and fixes for known problems.Recalls are allways covered as warranty work, and done for free.TSB's are not allways covered, if the problem is widespread enough then GMmay cover it, but not allways.
