stevens creek subaru : Just got a call from Stevens Creek Mitsubishi in Cupertino, CA.They called to inform me that 3 new Evolutions would be in theshowroom next week and that one could be mine for a mere $10,000 aboveMSRP.Can only imagine what Subaru will pull upon the introduction of theWRX STi.We are getting a few in, the first couple are spoken for but they areabout $3k addendum right now. That's not the scary part.. the scarypart is when you go over the service/maintenance requirements. Ibelieve we are also including the Pit Pass (pre-paid and much neededmaintenance program) in that addendum so really it's about a $2k addon a very limited car. The second local dealer is somewhere between$5,000-7,500 over. I, too, wonder what the Subi will bring as I'mlooking seriously at the Evo-8 for myself if I can swing it. And yes,even I (employee) would be probably in that range. That's if the invoice heshowed me was real!He further stated that mark up on the 2.5 TS is much lower than the WRXsince it's the lowest product on the line and thus less bargaining power.TS price was kept at a minimum to target a particular niche of consumers andthus Subaru decided to keep the price lower that it's counterpart WRX.I further asked how much room would there be to bargain on a WRX.... he saidlots! While some say you can go longer (which is aphilosophical question) between oil changes with a synthetic, I don'tbelieve it. I've gone to a blended oil called Syntec... mineral andsynthetic... costs less than pure synthetic but IMHO, is protecting myengine just as well for the driving conditions my engine is subjectedto.
