stevens creek subaru : Just got a call from Stevens Creek Mitsubishi in Cupertino, CA.They called to inform me that 3 new Evolutions would be in theshowroom next week and that one could be mine for a mere $10,000 aboveMSRP.Can only imagine what Subaru will pull upon the introduction of theWRX STi.We are getting a few in, the first couple are spoken for but they areabout $3k addendum right now. That's not the scary part.. the scarypart is when you go over the service/maintenance requirements. Ibelieve we are also including the Pit Pass (pre-paid and much neededmaintenance program) in that addendum so really it's about a $2k addon a very limited car. The second local dealer is somewhere between$5,000-7,500 over. I, too, wonder what the Subi will bring as I'mlooking seriously at the Evo-8 for myself if I can swing it. And yes, even I (employee) would be probably in that range. (ARGH!) this is all a bad joke....you can buy a used porsche or m3."DragonRider" wrote in message...On Thu, 27 Feb 2003 13:28:45 -0800, "simpleton" wrote:Yes, you can. Or you can buy a base model Corrolla for a lot less, etc. I won't ever normally pay anything over MSRP but in my own caseemmotion and the fact that I have wanted that damned car for the last7 years is probably going to overrule my own common sense.. ;) Yeah, Iwant one that bad. Look at how long the S2000 was over sticker. 2years! Some of the idiot lemming soccer moms are still payingoversticker for Honda Oddeseys. Why?!?! It's just a friggen mini-van!
stevens creek subaru : $4995 over invoice, 3 sitting on the lot Bloomington, Il. Wait a couplemonths and you won't see that extra tacked on. Just like the PT Cruiser waswhen it first came out...now they are a dime-a-dozen. Not that the Evo VIIIwill lose that kind of interest, but at that price range there is too manyother options (BMW 330ci, Audi A4 Quattro, Nissan 350Z, etc.)-----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World!-----== Over 80,000 Newsgroups - 16 Different Servers! =-----Considering they are not even released yet I'm rather surprised thatthere would be 3 of them at Bloomington... Care to grab a digicam andshow us? On the PT Cruiser and VW Bug front there is a difference..It's really hard to go over sticker when there are 40 of them on yourlot and another 90 of them on the used car lots within a mile! ;)There won't be that many Evo's and frankly the maintenance is going toscare off quite a few people. Kind of funny to have to have yourcustomer take a brief test and sign off on it before they get the car.;)
stevens creek subaru : The 3rd one must be in the showroom. My friend took his BLUE one homeThursday. And yes they made him watch a 20 min. video before taking it home.He had a deposit on it since Oct!-----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World!-----== Over 80,000 Newsgroups - 16 Different Servers! =-----That ought to be identical to my sticker when/if I can ever afford thebloody thing. Rally red, carbon wing, no sunroof. Hmm.. ARGH!!! I am getting rather fed up with always being the last ones toget them. Ours keep getting pushed back and we are supposed to get 5of them throughout the year. Of course, the first 2 are sold andhopefully around the 4th or 5th I can afford... <g> Apologies for jumping the gun but with last weeks Evo/Endeavor launchin Atlanta I was informed yet again by the regionals that we'd noteven be getting them in our area (TN/KY/VA, etc.) for some time. Guessthey were wrong! We should have had them back in October.Actually, they have been released and many dealerships have them already. I'mnot sure where you're located at, however, I can tell you that for some reason, some of the sales districts are almost a month behind other's.
stevens creek subaru : What would be a good price for this car? (5 spd) Invoice price is$16610, could I get something around this?checkout they offer imprezas for $1000 over invoice, whichhappens to be $1000 below msrpJust whatever you do, DO NOT go to Stevens Creek Imports in SanJose...they really are a bunch of clowns. I bought my Forester thereand had no end of difficulties caused not by the car but by the dealerand his handling of the car and the purchase process. There is a dealership in Redwood City and one in Walnut Creek withwhom you are more likely to have a good experience, and they seemedvery willing to deal a year ago, probably more so now. I made theMAJOR mistake of trying to use the dealer closer to home.First, a dealership with gives no-haggle prices (for you to comparewith)2nd a good online resource with many helpful members (even in yourarea). I highly recommend this site.---------------------------------------- -------------Go here to contact me: corpsie.com/contact/mail.htmlDO NOT BOTHER CONTACTING ME IN ANY OTHER MANNER.From my experience of just purchasing a 2002 Subaru 2.5TS in Canada, pricebefore tax $22K (including Frieght and air cond. taxes) In discussions orarguements (you can say) with the dealer, he finally showed me theirpurchase invoice. Mark-up apparently was $2K. That's if the invoice heshowed me was real!He further stated that mark up on the 2.5 TS is much lower than the WRXsince it's the lowest product on the line and thus less bargaining power.TS price was kept at a minimum to target a particular niche of consumers andthus Subaru decided to keep the price lower that it's counterpart WRX.I further asked how much room would there be to bargain on a WRX.... he saidlots! Smart salesperson!
stevens creek subaru : I just spent 50 bucks on a "Mobil One" change...do different oils last longer?I want to keep my warranty! Thanks guys!$50! You got screwed. You can buy a 6 pack of Mobil 1 at Sams, BJs,Price Club, etc for $23 and a filter for $5. That's $28 and 30 minutesof work under the vehicle.-- 97 TJ Sport, 5-speed, 3.55's, hardtop, A/C, tilt, Tuffy Series II console, Rhino Lined tub and rockers, Cobra 29 LTD WX CB, Pioneer DEH-45DH CD, Currie Rockcrawler II front and rear bumpers with tire rack, Currie rocker skids, Warn XD9000i winch, Mickey Thompson Challenger wheels, BFG M/T 33x12.50-R15, Rubicon Express fixed yoke kit and driveshaft, Rubicon Express 4.5" Rockbound suspension, Doetsch Tech DT3000 shocks, Performance Accessories 2" body lift,CrimeGuard 745i alarm, Empty bank account.I change my oil between 3,000 and 5,000 miles, no matter what kind ofoil I have in my engine. While some say you can go longer (which is aphilosophical question) between oil changes with a synthetic, I don'tbelieve it. I've gone to a blended oil called Syntec... mineral andsynthetic... costs less than pure synthetic but IMHO, is protecting myengine just as well for the driving conditions my engine is subjectedto.
