To me, theFord Escort is overall by far the more superior product whencompared to all the Malaysian makes such as the Kancil (basicallyonly a Daihatsu) or the Protons (once again basically a Mitsubishi)all of which i won't even aspire to own or want! I definitely takea Ford Escort or a Volkswagan etc. over all these so-calledMalaysian cars which are essentially Japanese cars (which i don'tthink too highly of anyway!) but with some parts sourced fromelsewhere (e.g. nice to note they use VDO instrumentation.. a veryrenowned German brand in that field) with the final assembly donein Malaysia. Of course they it's possible they manufacture someparts in Malaysia as well but even then, the design input tends tooriginate from other manufacturers elsewhere i.e. not too muchoriginality to give their own products any true identity or valueof their own.
